# Why the optimistic name?

> Why Bullish Peptides exists — Bullish Peptides pursues justified optimism about peptide research, with a particular interest in meaningful outcomes, durability and unresolved risks.

I chose Bullish Peptides to make room for warranted enthusiasm. Reflexive dismissal strikes me as lazy; easy enthusiasm has the same problem.

## Reasons to be encouraged

[SELECT’s cardiovascular outcome](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37952131/) is the sort of result that gives the name substance: fewer serious events in people who already had cardiovascular disease. I respect SELECT for committing to serious cardiovascular events. A sweeping claim about transformation would add little.

I admire [tesamorelin’s visceral-fat results](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25038357/) alongside the ingenious [MOTS-c cell experiments](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29983246/), while asking different questions of each. Their implications differ. My interest cools when the language expands faster than the experiment, especially when a mouse finding acquires a human treatment claim without a human treatment trial.

## Unresolved questions

This is a personal research-reading site about semaglutide, tirzepatide, tesamorelin and MOTS-c. The appeal is in following an encouraging result far enough to see its conditions: who benefited, which outcome changed, whether the change lasted and what it cost in unwanted effects.

The less convenient questions make the subject worth returning to. I’m impatient for more measurements of physical function after large weight changes, and for follow-up after treatment stops. A molecular explanation can be beautiful while leaving a clinical question unresolved. There is plenty of room here for enthusiasm that admits how much remains to learn.

## Medical advice

Bullish Peptides offers research commentary, and nothing on these pages is medical advice. My correction inbox cannot supply the medical knowledge needed to assess a stranger’s health. Clinical decisions need a qualified professional who knows the person, their history and their other medicines. The site provides no consultations, medicines or supplies.

Errors are worth correcting even when they make an argument less satisfying. A wrong unit can transform a fat-area measurement into an imaginary weight result; an omitted illness can make a narrow benefit sound universal. The [contact page](/contact) gives the address for a precise correction, and the [reading list](/references) preserves the publications behind the findings.

Bullish Peptides is an independent cohort-first literature digest—not a clinic, a peptide counter, or a permission slip to outrun the evidence.
